Thruxton is the fastest road racing circuit in the country with legendary high speed corners and a reputation as a real drivers circuit. It is a circuit that requires precision driving and total concentration and provides a unique challenge in British motorsport. It is also one of the longest in the UK at 2.4 miles. It really is the one track in the UK even the most experienced and skilled driver would never grow bored of and is extremely hard to get that near perfect lap!
Like many race circuits Thruxton was originally a wartime airfield. Commissioned in 1941 the airfield was host to both the RAF and USAF and played a major part in the D-Day landings.
In 1968 a new layout ignored the old runways and followed the lines of the perimeter road with the inclusion of the chicane and further round the track three corners (Campbell, Cobb and Segrave) in quick succession.
The sheer speed and challenge means that booking a lesson with one of our ace Instructors would be very worthwhile. Our team are all very experienced with the subtleties of this gem of a track and will help guide you to driving on line and with good technique.
